STUDY WAR NO MORE

I remember these lyrics from very early days. World War 2 days. Is there any hope that they will some day come true?  Doesn't seem possible.

There are many verses. Google it. Think about it. Ask yourself why it hasn't happened.

from “American Negro Songs"
by John W. Work, 1940

I’m going to lay down my sword and shield
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside
Going to lay down my sword and shield
Down by the riverside
Ain’t going to study war no more

Ain’t going to study war no more
Ain’t going to study war no more
Ain’t going to study war no more
Ain’t going to study war no more
Ain’t going to study war no more
Ain’t going to study war no more
