California’s e-voting systems are full of holes

http://www.pcw.co.uk/vnunet/news/2195262/california-voting-systems-full

This is why I went to ballot by mail. The possibility for fraud is becoming too great.
You think Florida was bad in 2000? Ya ain't seen nothin' yet.

$20 billion Saudi arms deal on way

ARE WE STUPID OR WHAT?

Lest we forget, all but 2 of the 9/11 terrorist bombers were Saudi Arabians.

War and Peace

Senator Barack Obama is being flayed for stating that he would, as his opponents are saying, "talk to our enemies".
I sincerely believe that the most effective way to "defeat" your enemy is to make him your friend.
Only the morally weak prefer to face the "enemy" on the battlefield rather than across the conference table.

Well pardon me!!

Regarding the commutation of Scooter Libby's prison sentence and the probability of full pardon, this was the easy choice for Bush. If he didn't let Scooter off, there may have been a good chance that he would have started singing the canary song. Bush/Cheney couldn't take this chance.
There were 2 choices. Spring him, or kill him.
Scooter knowing what he does, better keep his eye on his back. Bush is a simple minded patsy, but Cheney is a dangerous man.

More Iraq War

The news is saying that none of the "BENCHMARKS" expected of the so-called Iraqi puppet government that we set-up have been met.
Well DUH!! There is no social or political order in Iraq. There was before we invaded and deposed Saddam. Now it is anarchy, and will continue to be as long as we are there, and for a very long time after we leave. Saddam may have been a bad guy, but the evil people that are following him will make him seem like very sweet fellow.
The Washington idiots have created a haven and breeding ground for terrorism that will bedevil us for generations.
How could they be so stupid?
"the sins of the fathers-------------"

Iraq War

I see on the news that more and more Senators are starting to stand up and go against Bush on the Iraq war.
I have to ask, what has taken these people so long to see what has been obvious to many of us for a very long time?
Are they stupid, or just plain obtuse?
One does wonder.

4th of July

On this 4th of July, i find myself ruminating on where we came from, and where we seem to be today. Our ancestors fought the War of Revolution to free us from the yoke of a corrupt English monarchy, and created a Constitution to guarantee us the freedoms they fought for.

Will these freedoms survive?

The Halls of Power in our capitol, Washington, DC, seem to have become rife with corruption and greed. The most egregious example of this is in that symbol of freedom, the White House. There we have not only corruption, but also a near Shakespearean story of failure at the very top. As a President of the United States, George W. Bush is an abject failure. He, his Vice President Dick Cheney, and their sorry band of groveling flunkys have led us into an unwinnable war that over the long term could be a serious threat to the freedoms we cherish.

It's time to wake up America. It's time to stand up and demand the leadership we need to continue to prosper and live free. If we don't stand up, we may get what we deserve, which will be more of the same that comes out of Washington, and surely this will portend the end of the grand experiment in self government given us by our forefathers.

Olbermann: Bush, Cheney should resign

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19588942/

This is great stuff. Someone with the balls to tell it like it is. May he live long and prosper.

Scooter rhymes with Treason

Scooter Libby, having outed a secret agent of the CIA, has given aid and comfort to the enemy, and therefore he is guilty of treason.
George Bush, the handmaiden of Dick Cheeney has commuted the prison sentence, and most likely will grant a full pardon before he leaves office.

Does this make Bush and Cheeney guilty of after the fact treason?

Can you imagine the uproar from the right if a Democratic president had commited the same act?
