BIN LADEN STILL FREE. "WHY" YOU ASK"?

In December 2005 I wrote the following:

Where is bin Laden?
Does bin Laden have more propaganda value to Bush and Co. if he remains free and can be perceived as a major threat in the "War on Terror"?
I have long suspected that there were more reasons than meet the eye for the seeming abandonment of the war against the Taliban and bin Laden in Afghanistan.
To maintain a constant state of war, one's enemy must remain alive and healthy.

PARTY CRASHERS

The brazen couple that crashed the State Dinner at the White House has done us a favor by showing that the Secret Service may not be fully up to speed when it comet to protecting the President. The couple deserves some legal sanctions for this stunt. The Secret Service people that were in charge of security for this event should "fall on their swords" as would an inept samurai.
If this is allowed to happen again, the outcome may be tragic.

BART ALTERCATION

As I was thinking about the unfortunate incident on BART involving the police officer, the obviously mentally ill man, and the broken glass, my mind wandered back many years to a movie star governor who had involvement in closing down mental health facilities. Is this the way of a civilized country? Oops, sorry, I'm dreaming again.

TRIALS FOR TERRORISTS

There seems to be a great dustup over bringing the terrorists from Gitmo to New York for trial in federal court. Is there a fear that our prisons can't hold these people? Are the prisoners too clever for our jailers and will be able to slip through the bars, make their escape and destroy New York? Do these fearmongers believe that if the trial is held at Gitmo, we will be safer? Do they believe that if there is another terror attack, it will be on Gitmo, not the mainland? Silly reasoning.
I believe that it's important to show the world that we have a system of justice that's able to provide a fair and open trial for anyone, no matter who they are, or what their crime. This will show the world that we operate under a Constitutional system of law and justice and are not afraid to apply it, no matter what the circumstances.
A show of strength that is both moral and just will command respect. Fear of doing right is an admission of weakness.
Be strong. Be just. Be fair. Do right.

EUREKA!! I'VE GOT IT!!!!

The talking heads are all in a snit about how to pay for the Afghan war. Now they may rest, for I have the answer. We send the bill to the brother of Karzai, the so-called Afghan president. Brother is one of the worlds major dope dealers, and must have billions in profits hidden away. Lets make a deal! He pays for the war. We let him keep his business. Machiavellian to the max!!!

Crazed Army Major

The Army, in spite of all the signs pointing toward trouble, was unable to protect it's own from a crazed religious fanatic. That being the case, why should we feel confident that they can protect us from hordes of fanatics?

The rightwing bozos are whining about the cost of the healthcare bill soon to be voted on by the House. A word to these fools. Stop the stupid and pointless wars that kill our young people and drain our financial resources and there will be plenty of money for civilized and modern healthcare like so many countries have.
