This morning on CNBC I hear politicians yaking away on what is the definition of "recession". Makes as much sense as doctors defining how much pain a patient is in.
Maybe the pols would gain a better understanding if their pay and benefits were suspended until they take some sort of meaningful action to alleviate the problem. In other words, they should feel the pain. "No pain, no gain".
I'm reminded of the classic "definition" of the difference between recession and depression. Recession is when your neighbor is out of work. Depression is when you are out of work.
It's better to laugh than cry, so a little levity may be in order:
One comic asks the other; "You have 50 bucks in one pocket and 100 bucks in the other pocket. What do you have?"
Other comic; "Someone elses pants?"
