The automobile industry in the United States, once pre-eminent in the world, is sinking, and showing signs of being diminished to a shadow of what it once was. No doubt there are many reasons for this, some economic, and some due to mis-management and poor product lines that fail to meet market needs.

CALIFORNIA FALLING
It is said that people get the government they deserve. IF this is true, we Californians must be a bunch of useless bums, because it would seem that the government we have is populated by useless bums that are unable and/or unwilling to do the right thing.
You may ask, what is the right thing? Well, a good start would be to ensure that the revenue coming into the government is in balance with the cost of providing the level of service that has been legislated, and is expected by their constituents.
It's very apparent that there is an obstructionist far right minority in the legislature that intends to wreck California, and they are well on their way to accomplish this evil deed.

CALIFORNIA FISCAL CRISIS
Cheery headline on the front page of the May 20th Chronicle. "Budget measures fail, digging state in deeper".
Our esteemed politicians whose pay and benefits are far in excess of what they deserve have failed us by not doing their duty and handing the problem over to the electorate to do the job for them. This "elector" says, "Now is the time to earn your pay and do the job you have been hired for. If you can't bring yourselves to do the right thing, then get outta town, and make room for some who do have the testicular fortitude to make things right."
What a pack of fools, starting with the Governor and most of the legislators.

Michael Steele--------------------------------
-----------the chair of the RNC made his usual weak speech today. I gotta say that as a Democrat I hope he stays in that job for many years. Every time he opens his mouth, it's good news for us Dems.
Steele has some lame idea that he'll "rebrand" the Dems as the Democrat Socialist Party. Hey, that works for me. Beats hell out of the other side, the Repubby Fascist Party. An honest socialist will always have the best interests of his fellow man first and foremost. Unlike the RepFas party.
So Mr. Steele, hang in there. You're our best friend.
