I often wonder about some of the folks that characterize themselves as "libertarian".
Sometimes they seem close to crossing the line to anarchism. The current darling of the right, Rand Paul, winner of the Kentucky Republican senatorial primary may be one of these. Those of his ilk seem to hold a hatred of government, especially a government that guarantees certain liberties to all people, especially those that are perceived to be of a lesser class. However much they claim to hate the principles that good government espouses, they love to gain public office and enjoy the priviledges, perquisites, and power of the office.
Interesting that the given name "Rand" is the surname of the famous author Ayn Rand, the goddess of the far right. I doubt that this is a coincidence.
