Illegal Immigration Scam

Why, all of a sudden, is illegal immigration the most pressing problem facing our country? This is an issue that was a problem long before George second, George first and several administrations before them. What can be the reason for this? Surely there are many very serious problems that rank ahead of immigration. I would suggest that the awful mess in Iraq is at the top. The massive debt we've run up since Bush took office is right up there at the top of any rational list. We owe huge amounts of dollars to many foreign entities, and it's getting worse every day. This will drag down the economy, and further exacerbate the problem. Health care for our citizens is becoming more and more expensive, and affordable to fewer. And the list goes on.
Back to the first question about illegal immigration. I think I have the answer as to why it's on the front burner, and all the other stuff is pushed off to the side.
I detect the fine hand of the evil genius Karl Rove at work here. He hopes to have found a way to make Bush look like a moderate, middle of the road. all around good guy.
I'm not buying it.
