More on Walter Reed

The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is an ongoing tribute to the wisdom of our Founding Fathers.

The latest proof of this is in the area of freedom of the press, and the expose' of the shameful and disgraceful conditions involving the care of wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

I've heard it said that the one of the duties of an investigative reporter is "to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable". The Walter Reed situation is a perfect example of this principle. The reporters that brought this horror to the attention of the American people, and forced the hand of the authorities to begin to correct the problems deserve the Pulitzer Prize.

These reporters also deserve the heartfelt thanks and admiration of all the American people.
