Tornadoes leave at least 22 dead

About 25 years ago I was in Atlanta GA a few days after a 6.7 earthquake in Central California that caused structural damage from moderate to severe. Almost everyone at the convention I attended that knew I was from California said they would never live in earthquake country. To that I replied that I believed California to be safer than hurricane/tornado country.
I believed it then and I believe it now.
