Regarding Paula Deen and her admitted use of a racial slur word, I will lay out the truth for you. There are 2 kinds of people. Those that admit to using the "N" word, and bald faced liars. Now, the time has come to wakeup and shutup. Be kind to all people, and people will be kind to you.
LATER
I think it's possible to use a word until it looses much of it's power. This old HONKY grew up in the South. If I said "Nigger", my Mother would wash my mouth out with soap. We had a young black woman working as a maid and caretaker of me and my younger brother. She made me angry one day and I called her a nigger. She said in return, "just wait 'til your mother comes home". I was terrified. I knew that I had a whipping coming with a switch from a gnarly bush in the yard. Lucky for me, she didn't tell mother, and I went out of my way to be nice to her from that day on.
One additional memory. The time frame is in the mid 1940"s. Mother, Dad, my brother and I went to visit her at her home one day. Her home was a log cabin in the woods west of Salem, VA. Truly! No electricity or running water. Candles at night. A bucket in the well for water. This was about 68 years ago. I can still visualize it.

Arms for War
Watching Chris Matthews on HARDBALL wondering about war in the Mideast.
Wake up Chris! How can we support the Military Industrial Complex without war? President Eisenhower warned us. We didn't listen. Now we pay and pay and pay. We pay with dollars. We pay with lives. We pay with the denigration of our national honor. "When will we ever learn-------------?"

S. Palin
Listening to a Sarah rant on tv, reminded me of one of my late mother's sayings. "She ain't had no upbringin'".

SBBK show
SEI BOKU BONSAI KAI ANNUAL EXHIBIT
Is it over the top to say our 2013 annual bonsai show was the best we have ever done? I think not. I've been involved in every SBBK event since the founding of the club, and this exhibit in all respects was one that will remain in my memory for a very long time. My hearty congratulations to all participants.
Thanks to the members who were there for the setup. I think it went very well, and was a good example of hard work and cooperation by all involved.
I don't believe that I've ever seen so many bonsai brought to the Friday evening setup. Several tables were crowded with trees ready to show. A feast for the eyes.
Thanks and congratulations to Valerie and Gordon for their artistic placing of the trees. It was done with love and care and attention to detail. This is what makes a successful exhibit. I can still see it in my mind's eye, and the memory will linger for some time.
Thanks to Dave DeGroot for his demonstrations and exhibit critique. His presentations showed a mastery of the art of bonsai and a refined ability to teach and explain.
Once again, thanks to all. Ya done good!!

BIG BROTHER
IS WATCHING YOU?!
Are we becoming a Kafkaesq society? Has "Big Brother" taken over our lives? Have we become the LAND OF AGREE or HOME OF THE SLAVE? Has Land of the Free and Home of the Brave gone down the toilet of MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY?

Remember Adolf
THE PROMISE OF SECURITY IS THE PRELUDE TO DICTATORSHIP.
"President Obama defended what he called long-standing Internet and phone monitoring programs as valuable tools to fight terrorism, saying that congressional lawmakers have been repeatedly briefed on the program and that federal judges oversee the program “throughout.”

FEMALE PRESIDENT
Will there ever be a female President of the United States? It's up to the women of the United States to nominate and vote for a woman. They have the majority of voters. If they really want to do it and put their minds to it, it will happen.
SANTA MONICA SHOOTING
Another example of a 'well regulated militia" excercising their right to bear arms and indiscriminatly shoot at everyone in sight. Bang-bang you're dead.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
Is the price of safety and security a loss of some freedoms? The more freedom we give up, the sooner we come to totalitarinisim. Citizens, you must ponder this question. BIG BROTHER may be in your future. Don't allow the "Land of the free" to become the home of the slave.
ELECTRICITY
ELECTRICITY IS THE FUTURE OF AUTOMOTIVE PROPULSION.
The fossil fuel powered piston engine belongs in the dustbin of the past. Electricity powered motorcars are the future of clean and efficient personal transportation. The day is coming when Nikola Tesla will be regarded as a saint of the automobile industry, much as Henry Ford is now. Wake up motorists. Give up the snarling beast and embrace the elegant efficiency of the electric motor. Your lungs and mine will be all the better for it.
