Enough of the "Holier than thou"

All political candidates should have to wear Mr. Toles cartoon around their neck as a constant reminder to can the holier than thou hypocrisy.

The Prince of Peace

We are near the day that we celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, aka Jesus Christ, aka "The Prince of Peace". Some of the teachings of Jesus extoll the virtues of peace and tolerance, as shown here:

 

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Matthew 5:38-39)...Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. (Matthew 5:38-44)

 

According to Matthew, these are the words of Jesus, the very same Jesus whose teachings many politicians speak of reverently, but in hypocritical practice seem to ignore, all the while preaching the virtues of war.

 

As a prime example, I offer George of Crawford.

Presidential Candidates and Truth

I want to know the name of the presidential candidate or candidates who TRULY care more for their country than their ambitions.

Is there such a person?

Or is it just, "I love Jesus more than you love Jesus, SO THERE!!"

Michael and Scooter

Michael Vick has been sentenced to a well deserved 23 months in prison for gross cruelty to dogs.

 

Scooter Libby got a similar sentence for what should be called treason for outing a covert CIA agent.

 

Vick obviously isn't a FOB as is Scooter whose sentence was commuted, and who will no doubt get a pardon before the end of Dubya's term.
