"We were lying there, bleeding, and it hurt so much. Afterward, some Iraqi soldiers came. They carried us in their arms. I was crying, shouting, 'Why did you do this to our family?' And one Iraqi soldier tells me, 'We didn't do it. The Americans did."

My Lai revisited.
"When will they ever learn?"
Words cannot express the horror of this crime. It's more than a criminal massacre. It's irreparable damage to our country and our claim to be the "Land of the free, and the home of the brave".
Weep for the future of democracy and civilization.
Looks like Bush has realized that 2 "Snow jobs" in his administration is 1 too many. He finally got the "drift", and 1 Snow got "railroaded".
Shakespeare, in Julius Ceasar ( I think) said something like this:
"The evil that men do lives after them. The good is oft interred with their bones".
In the case of the Enron evildoers, there will be precious little good to inter with their bones. May they rot in prison until nothing but bones are left. Then bury them very, very deep.
We have the new fuss about immigration, and now the fuss about English as the official language. And again, the real and very serious problems are put on the back burner and "off the radar" for the general public.
Our glorious leaders, obviously honorable men all, are providing diversions that they hope will blind us to the very grim reality of the current situation. We are in deep do-do. they know we are in deep do-do, they know not what to do about this mess. so they play mind games. Don't be fooled. These so called "honorable men" will stop at nothing to have their way by playing us all for fools.
Fellow citizens, remember this admonition: "There are none so blind as they who WILL not see".
If Bush doesn't get the immigration bill he wants from the House and Senate, maybe his next step will be to declare war on Mexico. In light of recent history, it should be obvious to all that Congressional advise and consent is not required to wage war.
Once war is underway, all illegal immigrants can be rounded up as enemy combatants and put in concentration camps at forced labor. There they will produce goods even cheaper than they do now. This should make business happy.
The Armed Services will be dispatched to the border to repel the invading hordes. The border will be secured, with at least 100000 soldiers stationed there in perpetuity, such as the DMZ at the 38th parallel in Korea. Lets see now, that's been more than 50 years I believe.
My goodness! Do you suppose I've been reading Karl's mind?
To whom have you been speaking? Big Brother in the form of the NSA and "King" George want to know.
What is next, listening in? Will there be a gigantic server set up in the bowels of the Pentagon that can listen in to whomever they want, and as many as they want?
Be careful what you say. Even a joke could be misunderstood, and there will be a knock on your door in the dark of the early morning.

The CIA is supposed to be a civilian agency, separate from the military. If Gen. Hayden is confirmed as it's head, the separation is finished, and we are that much closer to a military dominated government. In the long run, this is a danger to our Constitutional liberties. Gen. Hayden already seems to have a problem with the Fourth Amendment, and it's prohibition of warrentless searches of United States citizens.
One of my favorite liberty quotes:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon PROBABLE CAUSE*, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. "

This is very clear. If we give up Constitutional guarantees, we start down a slippery slope to fascism and dictatorship. Is this what we are fighting for? Is this what our forefathers fought for?
Another Bush-Baby bites the dust.
Brought to you by the gang that can't shoot straight.
When, oh when will we see the end of these fools?
OF IMPERIAL PRESIDENTS AND CONGRESSIONAL COWARDS
by Pat Buchanan
"Does President Bush have, or not have, the authority to take us to war with Iran? Because Bush and the War Party are surely behaving as though this were an executive decision alone."
