THE GREAT LEAK

Of course, all the rightys will complain about how long it took Obama to plug the leak. When if first happened, a lot of supposedly smart people were saying why doesn't he do this and order that and blah to the nth power. People that are smart were saying dumb things. For instance, I heard Chris Matthews say something to the effect, why doesn't the Navy send a sub down there, blah. blah. The truth is it would have been crushed like a soda can stepped on by an elephant, and he should know that. The pressure a mile under water is beyond belief. The oil industry should have been ready for a disaster such as this, but not being required to, why bother? The feds were always looking the other way with eyes closed.
Another thing amazing to me. Proposals to stop deep water drilling in the Gulf are opposed by many people down there. Drilling will continue, but extreme safety measures must be put in place and rigidly enforced.
Wind and solar power must be pushed harder and harder. The less oil we need, the cleaner and safer the environment will be.

BART

Johannes Mehserle was rightly convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the killing of Oscar Grant. That being said, the true culpability for Grant's death falls on BART, who is primarily responsible of hiring and training Mehserle who, IMHO is not cop material. Looking at images on him and hearing him speak remind me of the old saying that's applied to people who are a brick shy of a full load. "The lights are on but nobody is home".

Obama's war

The Repubbys are spouting the nonsence that Afghanistan is Obama's war. As though it didn't exist before Obama became President. This is like saying that the horseshit in the Augena stables didn't exist before Hercules took on the task of shoveling it out.
Are the Repubbys REALLY that stupid? Maybe not. However they think the average votor IS that stupid. How sad it is that they may be correct.

Da Guv

The bad actor from Austria that has been beating down California for near 8 years is trying to really stick it to state employees by cutting their pay to minimum wage until a state budget is passed and signed. How unfair is this? The fools at the top of the food chain are to blame for this mess. So who gets punished? The little guy at the bottom of the chain. What happens when he can't make his house payment? When he has to run up his credit cards to the limit to feed the kids and when he can't pay the bill, then what? Shame on you guv, and all of your ilk. May the lot of you roast in Hell.
